Dr. Wood received his undergraduate degree at the Fredericton campus of UNB.  He went on to complete his medical degree from the Dalhousie University, studying at the Saint John satellite campus Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick.  His residency training was completed locally in Fredericton as part of the Dalhousie Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Wood is a family physician at Uptown Family Medicine where he also provides care for inpatients at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, along with his colleagues on a rotating basis.  In addition, he does rotations for patients who are admitted to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital without a family doctor.  He works various shifts at the Queens North Community Health Centre and has responsibilities for residents at the York Care Centre nursing home.

Dr. Wood has a strong belief in a patient-centered approach to practicing medicine. He treats patient problems with empathy and values the mutual respect of the doctor-patient relationship.  He is a passionate advocate for the elderly.  His clinical interests also include small plastic surgery procedures such as mole and lesion removals as well as assisting surgeons with various surgical cases.

Dr. Wood was born and raised in Harvey, NB. In his spare-time he enjoys family time with his wife and their three daughters.
